Department of Health– Be Project

Government / Federal Government

The Australian National Preventive Health Agency, now part of the Department of Health aims to provide national capacity to drive preventive health policy and programs.
To engage young people (and their parents) in talking about binge drinking in a way that would start to change attitudes and ultimately work toward a new culture that places drinking responsibility as the 'norm'.
SOLUTION
Horizon developed the Be Project, a competition inviting young people to produce an original song or action sports video with a strong anti-binge drinking statement. The competition necessitated the development of a microsite with audio and video upload functionality.
Horizon built an easy to navigate microsite which incorporated a homepage, login page, two tailored submission pages, a voting platform and search functionality. For ease of use, audio and video files were able to be uploaded in any common file format. The microsite was built with a mobile optimised design and allowed for back end moderation.
OUTCOME
Far exceeding the initial expectation, the competition generated over 145 audio and video entries, 188 votes and approximately 10,000 pages views.
