Marrickville Council was a local government area located in the Inner West region of Sydney, Australia. On 12 May 2016, Marrickville Council was merged with Ashfield and Leichhardt councils into the newly formed Inner West Council.
CHALLENGE
To develop effective stakeholder communications, branding, key messages and a communication strategy to support Marrickville Council's waste and recycling services and to encourage a whole community approach. The 'Towards Zero Waste Strategy' aimed to empower the community to eliminate organics from landfill, establish a mainstream reuse culture and embed responsiveness into council strategies and services.
SOLUTION
Horizon was engaged to develop the new brand and communication strategy for Marrickville Council.
Horizon’s approach involved five key steps including; an investigation and review, strategic recommendations, developing a look and feel, building a communication strategy, launch and implementation.
OUTCOME
The new brand and communication strategy was incredibly well-received by the client and community and has since been rolled out across the LGA by Council.
